Year-round Christmas decorations, a visit from a stranger, and the hidden power of a locket are just some of the family secrets at the Donaldson household, home of adopted eleven year old Marvin and his older sister Tess. When the two discover an entrance to a blackhole in their very own Christmas tree grove, “finding your hearts desire in your own backyard” takes on new meaning. An accidental leap into the blackhole brings them to Emoh, a fantastic yet dangerous universe filled with pop trees, glow grass, fightcritters, and Cygnus, a man who holds the key to Marvin’s roots and Tess’s locket. As they bounce between the two universes, they come to understand that finding out where you come from is different then finding out who you are.
