Some exciting events to kick off 2016 for TURN THE PAGE!
We are participating in the Democrat & Chronicle‘s Unite Rochester Challenge. The Unite Rochester Challenge is a contest for ideas that raise awareness or help to reduce racism or socioeconomic inequality in the Rochester region. One of the 89 projects will receive $5,000 and professional support from the D & C staff. Through 1/27 you can vote for our film HERE. It’s listed as #2 – The Incarcerated Parent.
Additionally, we are holding a work-in-progress fund raising screening at the Little Theatre on Thursday, February 11th. We hope to raise enough money to enable us to finish the film. Hope you can join us at this very special event. You might even see some of the folks that appear in the film.
Tickets for the screening can he purchased HERE.
Yes, yes, yes….we are still editing. But, I promise all is moving along. These things just take awhile.
We have found a new title for our film – TURN THE PAGE. Many thanks to Judith Helfand for the suggestion. It works on several levels for the film and seems to be a good fit for the project.
We have also just set up a Facebook page for the film. You can Like it HERE. Please share it with others that might be interested in the issues surrounding incarcerated parents and the children left on the outside.
More to come….
